Central Virginia United Travel Soccer
Travel Soccer is the highest level of soccer offered at Central Virginia United. We offer two opportunities for Travel Soccer at the Premier and Classic levels of play. CVU Premier White teams are a part of the CCL Championship West Division. Our Classic Red teams are members of the Skyline League. CVU Travel is highly competitive. Accepted players typically have past soccer experience.
The Travel experience is available for U11 to U18/U19 players. A season for U11 to U15 players includes both the Fall and Spring. U16 and older players have only a Fall season. CVU's Fall season begins with our Battle of the 7 Hills Labor Day Tournament and runs through early November. The season may be extended slightly due to the possibility of rescheduled games. Our Spring season starts early March and concludes the week before Memorial Day in May.
Tryouts are required for those interested in joining one of our travel teams. Tryouts for the Fall season typically occur in May. Participants must register online and pay the tryout fee before attending a session. Placement of players is based on tryout evaluations which includes player skill, commitment level, and attitude. To fill any open spaces, CVU sometimes offers supplemental tryouts in the Spring. These tryouts typically occur around February and are only to fill needed positions in our U11 to U15 teams.
CVU Travel teams typically practice twice a week. All of our coaches are licensed professionals who work with our CVU Technical Staff to implement the club curriculum and encourage player development. Games are scheduled to take place over the weekend - home games are played at the CVU Complex while away games take place at other club complexes throughout the state.
The Travel season kicks off with CVU's Travel Preseason Camp typically scheduled for late July. All accepted players are encouraged to sign up for the camp as it offers a great introduction back into the soccer season. CVU players are encouraged to continue their soccer training in the off season by participating in camps and other available programs in the area.
