 Our Technical staff are structuring a new approach to the way our players will learn, compete, and develop. Our philosophy is developed around the technical, cognitive, and social development of our players.

 

The U8 academy serves as the transition from recreational programming, into a more structured coaching environment. This program is specifically for U8 (2016 birth year) aged players and the registration cost has been reduced.

 

Our coaches will seek to educate players in developmentally appropriate curriculum over the 7 weeks of play. Players will gain a more in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of play and create their own pathway to success. Training will occur every Monday and Wednesday evening during the season and games on Saturday mornings.

An end of season tournament can be made available for players in May. This will be subject to group interest.

 CVU aims to teach the love for the game in a safe, competitive, and educational environment.

U8 Academy Details 

• Registration Costs

This Program is $180 per season. Please note that there is a no-refund policy in effect upon the close of registration and the start of the season.

• Season

In Sping 2024, the Development Center runs for 7 weeks. Male and female players may participate together in a co-ed setting. For the current season, players born in 2016.

This program will begin on March 11th.

Development Center is overseen by CVU technical staff. The coaches are all nationally licensed through U.S. Soccer - the governing body of soccer in the United States - and follow CVU's Player Development Model.

• Practices and Games

Training sessions are held at the CVU Complex, twice a week.

Players are expected to wear shin guards and cleats for each practice. They are also encouraged to bring their own soccer ball - size 4 balls.

The Development Center program will offer in-hosue games throughout the season, while the club also aims to find competition from outside the of our program.

Spring 2024 practices for the U8 academy will take place on Monday & Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm on Field #1A

Games at the CVU Complex will be on Field # 1A on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am - 10:00 am.
