Futures & Academy

Futures & Academy

CVU's Futures and Academy programs are being revamped and refreshed for 2022! Technical staff have structured a new approach to the way our players will learn, compete, and develop. Our philosophy is developed around the technical, cognitive, and social development of our players.

The Academy serves as the transition from wanting to play soccer, to competing within our extensive travel program. This year, CVU Academy will be open to U8, U9, and U10 aged players and the registration cost has been reduced.

Our coaches will seek to educate players in developmentally appropriate curriculums over the 7 weeks of play. Players will gain a more in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals of play and create their own pathway for success. Training will occur on Monday and Wednesday nights, with all games on Saturday mornings. CVU aims to teach the love for the game in a safe, competitive, and educational environment.

Central Virginia United's improved Futures program seeks to make soccer enjoyable for younger players that love the game. One night a week, U6 and U7 players will train in a structured environment that includes an introduction to technical skills and fun based activities that encapsulate an understanding of the game. Wednesday nights will serve as our training night and games will fall on Saturday mornings. With a lower price point, we seek to make soccer accessible for all.
